theme behind this photoshoot was to create a flawless almost "plastic" look. i used revlon colorstay foundation to even his complexion, contoured, and smoothed vaseline all over his face to give that glossy finish. sexyyy :)

her theme was barbie bright eyeshadow w/ pink lips! i also smoothed vaseline over her foundation to give that "plastic" look.

picture from a wedding gig. she wanted to incorporate blue eyeshadow yet still keep it natural.

My Clip-In Extensions

these are the Euronext collection human hair clip-in extensions. they're 18 inches, jet black, straight, premium remy hair. you get 10 pieces. one 8 inch weft, one 7 inch weft, one 6 inch weft, one 5 3/4 inch wefts, four 1 1/2 inch wefts, and two 1 inch wefts w/out clips for color testing. these run for around $90 each at sally's beauty supply. but they occasionally have promos and discounts if you're lucky :)

i prefer wearing it straight just because it has a strong, lingering odor if i put any heat on them. not cute.

i use 2 belt huggable hangers to store my extentions. since i have them cut & layered it's important for me to keep them in order and this is the easiest way to do so. the huggable hangers are thin and textured so the pins stay put.

i use a paddle brush because its gentler on the hair, and the rat tail comb is great for sectioning. i use Victor & Rolf's Flowerbomb perfume to mist the hair to cover up the odor. and that's all i need to transform my grown out A-line into long layered hair! hope this could help you ring in the new year :)

Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer

this tinted moisturizer claims to be lightweight with natural coverage. my shade is in light to natural. it has an SPF 50 for protection without leaving a greasy residue. it also prevents premature signs of aging and diminishes the appearance of sunspots. it is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free, non-comedogenic, oil-free, and dermatologist approved! phew that was a mouthful.

(applied w/ my fingers)
consistency: i found it to be a lot thicker than your normal tinted moisturizer, and a little difficult to blend because it dries so quickly. its not as lightweight as it claims.
packaging: adorable bright orange with pink writing and pink little strap to hook onto necklaces (if you're out at the beach, i guess?) it has a pump, so that's always a thumbs up.
coverage: i don't have acne scars, but i have discoloration and dark veins and it gave pretty good coverage. it leaves a dewy finish so i'd recommend setting it with a lightweight powder.

i used maybelline dream matte powder and i'm pretty happy with the coverage! overall i like it a lot! definately great if i'm in a rush, or for when summer comes back around.

how i take care of my nails!

so i took a break from studying (my state board exam is in 2 days, ahhhh!) and decided to paint my nails. i had acrylics nails for about a 4 month span, and we all know what kind of damage that does to your natural nails. i noticed discoloration which is caused from a gap between the acrylic nail and my natural nail. my nail bed is on the curvy side and once the artificial tip grows out, that's where you see the gap. that gap can retain moisture from washing your hands, or using lotion, etc. once you see the gap you need to either get a new full set or simply take them off. other problems that most girls have after taking acrylics off are ridges in the nail, peeling, or brittleness. so i swore not to get acrylics unless there was a special occasion of some sort, because my nails were paper thin!

so i've been using the NailTek ridge-filling base coat (foundation II) and i actually really like this product. it claims to fill unsightly ridges while healing and strengthening the natural nail. after using it for about 6 months my nails are growing like they used to and they aren't breaking! hooray! they still peel from time to time but that could be from my improper filing. they said you need to file from outside to the center of the nail, but i'm sloppy i just go back and forth.

if you're looking for an inexpensive deep red nail polish for the fall, i reccomend NYC Wing it Wine creme 121A. its got gorgeous iridescent red reflects and its just the perfect fall red.

my all time favorite top coat is the Seche Vite dry fast top coat. not only does is dry SUPER fast, it gives such an amazing shine that lasts! i've tried OPI and sally hansen top coats and they just don't cut it.

and since my hands get extremely dry from washing my hands alot and the weather getting cold, i love this nivea creme. its really thick and i can definately feel it on my skin and its very soothing. i don't use too much because it can get greasy feeling. but it smells amazing and you can find it at target or walmart in the travel section for just 99 cents!

a closer look at japanese fashion mags!

i'm so bummed that U.S. fashion magazines (in my opinion) aren't as awesome as japanese magazines. even though i can't read the words, the pictures and layouts are so eye catching! like i said in the previous post, i was able to only pick up 2 issues. one was Jelly Oct 2010 and JJ Oct 2010.

i love the food section. i love sweets and any food that has fun colors or is packaged cute. i'm really picky with food, so if i don't like the taste but if its adorable to look at, i don't feel its a total waste :)

the makeup section is so great because they've got step by step pictures and lists of products. like tutorials, which we all love. i see a few familiar brand names like mac, nars, dior, even maxfactor. i also see international brands which of course spark my curiosity. you always want what you can't have!

the hairstyles are adorable of course. these girls have such pretty hair always perfect curls. i don't see alot of black hair though. kind of makes me wanna go light but not until my hair grows it. we'll see.

since the weather is getting chilly (slowly, but surely) i'm all about big, chunky sweaters and leggings or over the knee socks! these are cute ways to style them without looking like holly madison with converses & pigtails, lol.

so i had to get them for myself. i searched high and low. of course forever21 had a pair so i got a grey for $2.50 and a thicker black pair for around $3.80. i also found a black opaque pair and a white opaque pair on sale at urban outfitters for $1.99! lastly was a dark grey thigh high pair at target on sale for $3.50

so if you're in an area with access to japanese magazines, snag some! you won't regret it. and you can always donate them to me :)

i'm sorry. i'm sorry. i'm sorryyyyyy! no more excuses. soo update on what i've been up to!

COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL

for those of you who didn't know, i recently graduated cosmetology school. it was quite an experience! my parents and my swinkle were the ones who pushed me into pursuing what i love to do, which is makeup. and that's what my long term goal was to get out of cosmetology school. what i didn't know was that cosmetology school was more focused on HAIR. which i've said numerous times that i was not into hair, and pretty much sucked at. but in time i grew to love hair. makeup will always be my #1, but by doing makeup AND hair that makes me more marketable. which means more $$$$ in the bank.

i'd describe myself as a pretty modest person, so i never though in a million years that i could actually do hair. and i auditioned to be on my school's "DESIGN TEAM" which is kind of like your typical student council except you get to go out of town and compete at beauty school competitions! and it also looks great on your resume! so i made the team! HOORAY! and with lots of prepping and practicing i placed 2nd for haircutting

and 1st for team (which i did makeup) our theme was sort of moroccan, so i used gold, orange, red, purple, black, and teal! for her lip i used mac mattene lipstick in Bing with a gold pigment in the center.

TRIP TO CALIFORNIA
of course i had to celebrate and since the competition was in pasadena, he took me to my favoritest place in the world! DISNEYLAND!

we also took a trip to little tokyo which is in downtown LA and we shopped and ate!

we were craving ramen so we visited orochon ramen which was featured on the show man vs. food but we didn't order the infamous special #2. i'm not that adventurous

i found some japanese magazines! i wish i could've bought every magazine but that would be too heavy to lug around. these magazines are wayyy better than U.S magazines! there's tons of outfit ideas, hairstyles, and makeup. these japanese girls are sooo freakin gorgeous! but why does every girl have the same hair color?

i also found some japanese skin care products. i've never tried a cleansing oil before but lately i've been getting a lot of dry patches on my face and i'm hoping this can keep my skin feeling soft. i've read reviews on the perfect gel and it doesn't cleanse as well as the perfect whip. it leaves a film which needs to be rinsed off with another cleanser, so that's a downfall. the perfect whip is made for oily skin and a little goes a long way with this product. i was told this foams up really well with a clarisonic, which i don't have but i'm considering investing in one. what are your thoughts on a clarisonic?

LABOR DAY HAUL!

so don't expect anything major. i was only BARGAIN shopping! i had to keep self control. soo i thought i'd share the GREAT finds i picked up :)

so first is this dark grey zebra print scarf from urban outfitters and it was on sale for $10! it's perfect for winter and spring! i love the print, and its perfect to layer with a simple tank & jeans :)

next item was from ross. i was SO happy to atleast find one useful, cute and INEXPENSIVE item! this faux leather bomber jacket was only $14.99! its SOO cute with a simple tank, dark washed skinny jeans, and BOOTIES! soo rocker chic. i'm so excited to bust this out when it gets chilly.

last items were the cheapest of all! i made a visit to my local swap meet (flea market) and this booth had tons of lashes for such inexpensive prices! once i saw it i definately took this opportunity to STOCK UP. there was a deal for the red cherry & bliss lashes 3 for $5. and the creme lashes (which are practically the same; the lash numbers coordinate with both brands) were all $1!

so my wallet is feelin happy, i didn't do TOO much damage this past weekend. i hope you guys had a fun and safe labor day weekend :) until next time, byeee!

okay sooo i haven't really posted anything on my everyday life! i'll introduce my boyfriend Bartt to all my blogger ladies :)

quick history on us -- met in high school, been together for 3 and 1/2 years and couldn't be happier!

alright so we haven't spent much time out and about doing normal couple things this summer so far (stuck working on a project car and blah blah etc. i'll go into more detail w/ pics another time!) but finally finally FINALLY a date night! soo of course we had to watch Transformers2, but before that we did our first blogtv chat together! (THANKS TO ALL THAT WATCHED, AND I HOPE YOU GUYS HAD AS MUCH FUN AS WE DID) i'm so happy he finally agreed to that!

before the movie, we grabbed a mango smoothie at tropical smoothie which was new to me because i'm pretty loyal to my strawberry surfrider at jamba juice. but that mango smoothie was BOMMBBB! it was yummmy and sweet! unlike the nasty sour mangoes at grocery stores, makes me miss fruits in the philippines!

thanks goodness we came 30 mins early for the movie because that place was packed. but i know everyone came to watch Shia LaBeouf. (mmmmm!!) super long movie but plenty of action! so it was pretty good.

after movies we went to applebee's for a nice dinner. we decided to get little dessert shooters, they were like $2! i got the strawberry cheesecake and he got hot fudge sundae. mine was gross! i definately don't recommend it. yuck. and that concludes our night!

my new love of the moment - SKINNY BELTS! i have been searching and searching and searching for one that could fit perfectly at my waist. its difficult for me to find waist belts in general because i'm very petite, but lucky me i found some at Wet Seal! they came in a three pack of a white, black, and brown and it's a braid style which means it can tighten as far as you want, and you can simply tuck in the leftover flap. yay for skinny belts!

this has been requested over and OVER and i'm finally getting around to it! i get plenty of questions on my hairstyle like.. what it's called, what to tell your hair stylist, etc. so here goes the HISTORY of my hair from the years '07-'09.
it all started here:

the long, layered typical asian highschooler. heheh. i pretty much got bored of this hairstyle after having it for about 6 years (let's not talk about the crazy cut i had before this). so i did some celeb hairstyle research and stumbled on Nicole Richie's long bob.

so i fell in love! i pretty much printed out this picture and gave it to my hair stylist. and it turned out like this:

yes i had some highlights. (which i regret because my hair has NEVER been as black as it naturally was.. BOO!) after having this cut for awhile, it grew out and i wanted to chop it off after i saw Victoria Beckham's a-line bob!

so i printed this and took it to my hair stylist! and here's the results:

now i'm contemplating what i should do with my hair. whether to chop off the back again or... grow it out? i miss long curls and putting my hair up in a messy bun! but summer's coming up and it gets HOT! so i'll be going back and forth on that, but i'll probably end up chopping it, aha.

so that's my hair story! i hope you all enjoyed and hope i could help you decide on a new hairstyle! the trick to it is just gradual steps. if you have hair grown down to your lower back, do NOT chop off your hair above your shoulders because i guarantee you WILL feel like a boy and cry. its the truth! so if you follow my steps, it'll be good stuff :)

Prom Makeup Tutorial

It's Prom time for the youngins! This look is perfect for any dress color, skin color, age (i mean you should at least be a junior/senior to be going to prom!) like I stated in the video.

A few tips on makeup for prom:
1. Choose ONE for your statement - Eyes or Lips.
- If you have a smokey dramatic eyes, downplay with a nude or light pink lip. If you're going for bold red lips, downplay with subtle eyes.
2. Don't cake up your face with foundation!
- It looks horrible in pictures, and you'll regret it when you look back. Also make sure your foundation is the perfect match! So I suggest go get color matched.
3. It helps to have an inspirational look.
- As a guide, use a celebrity's red carpet photo.
4. Make sure to bring blot papers or blot powder!
- A shiny t-zone is emphasized in a dark room with flashing cameras!
5. Always apply lipgloss before taking a pic :)

DEPOT your UDPP!

so i finally depotted my UDPP and i got a whole lotta product! you all should know by now that the shape of the bottle causes product to build up on the curved sides, so when you think you've used up all of your product because the wand isn't it up, THINK AGAIN! i put it into my Olay eye cream container, and it filled it up a little bit more than half way. so here's the steps :)

materials you need:
UDPP (duh)
sharp knife
10 gram container

STEP 1: take the wand out of the bottle, place aside.
STEP 2: cut through the fattest section of the bottle horizontally.
STEP 3: use the wand to scoop out all of the product, place into your container.
STEP 4: cut through the thinnest section of the bottle horizontally.
repeat step 3
your bottle should now look like this:

and your container should look like this:
